Since primitive times horseshoes have been hung over front doors to ward off evil spirts. Branch introduces Cody Barber Ponyshoes powder coated in modern twist of jewel tones.
Artist Cody Barber lives and works in Marfa, Texas, where he is currently conducting an ongoing series of “Studio Exhibitions” that explore the illusory moiré patterns he has become known for. Barber's three-dimensional work incorporates a specific type of expanded metal that he paints with industrial powder coating. Most commonly square in format, the materials are housed within steel cases, creating restricted spaces for his kinetic illusions to occur. The inherently optical nature of his works rely heavily on viewer movement to inform an unlimited range of graphic perceptions. Barber's public studio is located at 203 E. San Antonio St. where he keeps regular "open studio" hours from 12 to 6 P.M. Thursday - Sunday. Newly completed works are available for purchase directly from the artist.
